Breastfeeding not only contains the optimal amount of nutrients, it also contains antibodies which will help to protect your baby against diseases and infections. Especially colostrum (the 'first' milk in the days after child birth) contains large amounts of these protective antibodies.
Breastfeeding creates a bond
When you breastfeed your baby your body release a hormone called oxytocine. This hormone stimulates the bonding between mother and child.
Breastfeeding helps to loose weight
You approximately use around 500 additional calories a day when you are breastfeed your baby. This explains why women that breastfeed usually loose their pregnancy pounds faster.
You don't have to worry if your little get's to much
If you feed on demand than you don't have to worry about giving to much. Your little one will make sure that he is getting enough.
